Julien Fayard 2021 Martinez Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting notes
The 2021 vintage from this high-elevation Pritchard Hill site delivered another charismatic Cabernet marked by its distinctive black fruit aromatics and volcanic power. The nose opens with the rich scents of oil-cured black olives, wild blackberries, and warm butterscotch. In the mouth, the wine erupts with ripe black fruit – blackcurrant, blackberry, and black olive – lifted by notes of red plum and dried blueberry. The coiled, ultra-fine-grained tannins have an earthy minerality that grounds the wine and ensures years of delicious enjoyment. Warm notes of allspice and coffee bean linger on the savory finish.
