On the palate, blackberry and cassis form the backbone of the wine, while bright, red fruits provide ample lift and freshness. Aging in 100% new French oak barrels yields harmonious, silky tannins that give structure from front to back. The wine finishes with warm spices and a pleasing, subtle hint of sweetness.
The 2016 Mr. Evans demonstrates incredible balance and finesse owing to a beautiful, even growing season. It is showing extremely well even in its youth and will keep evolving in the bottle for 15-20 years.
