Moone Tsai 2023 Corinne Cuvée Pinot Noir
Tasting notes
Hues of medium ruby/purple draw attention nearly as much as the wine’s pretty nose, fragrant with red fruit, violets and suggestions of rose petal and lavender. The wine’s attack is no less alluring – as a delightful mélange of wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry, earth and dry herbs carry through to the finish. Fermented in open stainless-steel tanks, the wine is: 30% whole cluster-pressed, with two-days cold soak and 16 days-on-skins; followed by aging for 16-months in 50% French Oak barrels. Demonstrating a fresh minerality, silky tannins, and a pleasing weightiness on the palate, the wine lives up to its namesake (second daughter Corinne), whose fetching presentation and approachability underlie an unmistakable charisma.
