The 2021 Audēre Red Blend bestseller is topping the charts with a total production of 248 cases. 23 months barrel aged in 90% New French and Hungarian Oak, in typical bold fashion, it comes out guns blazing with lots of extract, some serious tannin, and a fullbodied mouthfeel. The 2021 Audēre Red Blend is comprised of Hertelendy’s ultrapremium Rockwell Ridge estate vineyard (planted in 1993 at 1365 feet, 35 ft below the Howell Mountain AVA) in addition to Coombsville, Atlas Peak, & Silverado Bench fruit. It is an exuberant, rich wine with notes of dark cherry liqueur, black currants, violets and a mocha crème brûlée finish.
